Ok So-ri, Park Chul and the Italian Chef

South Koren TV/Radio personality Park Chul (39) and actress Ok So-ri (36), have held news conferences about the fact that Ok So-ri has been cheating on her husband with an Italian Chef from a Seoul Hotel. Park told local media that he had filed a criminal suit against Ok for adultery. In Korea, adultery is against the law.

So-Ri is appealing against the criminal charge and on Wednesday (30Jan08) filed a petition in a court in Goyang City calling for the government to scrap the controversial law.In her complaint, her attourney’s argue: “The adultery law constitutes a serious breach of the individuals rights to make decisions concerning sex and privacy under the constitution.

“Adultery cases must be handled in civil courts, not in criminal courts.”

In Korea, adultery is against the law and it is taken very seriously.

Ok’s business partner, Baek Jong-eun, revealed that the actress had an affair with an Italian chef, only identified as G.

“Ok introduced G to me as her English teacher, but I suspected she was lying because I wondered how a hotel restaurant chef could possibly have time to teach English after a busy day at work,” Baek said at a press conference held at the bridal consultancy company he co-owned with Ok.

“Two months earlier, they had their picture taken at the company. G saw Ok and Park’s photo on the wall and asked if he was Ok’s husband. Ok answered ‘You don’t need to look at it.’”

Baek, who co-owns a bridal consultation company with Ok, told reporters recently that the actress’ affair with the chef broke up her 11 year marriage to Park Chul.

Now Ok has hit back at the allegations and said that she only took English and cooking lessons from the chef. However, she confessed that she had an affair with a singer named Chung instead. Their steamy affair lasted only three months in 2006 because loverboy spoilt everything by asking to borrow large sums of money from her.

Ok then continued to air more dirty laundry in public by revealing that she has always been unhappy in her marriage. One of the main reasons was that Park Chul was always in debt.

When interviewed the following day, Park retaliated against the accusation by saying, “It is groundless and she has no evidence.”
