Tim Mahoney…You know, the Democratic U.S. Rep. from Florida who used Federal money to hire his mistress to work at his office, had to pay off another female staffer that he had an affair with in order to keep her quiet about sexual harassment, and has admitted to numerous affairs?
His wife Terry Mahoney left him and filed for divorce 24 hours ago. By her account the marriage was, “irretrievably broken” and she’s seeking a lump sum payment and permanent alimony. As she should of course, he’ll have to pay for his choice to sleep in someone else’s bed.
In addition, Tim Mahoney’s career might just go to shit, although Mahoney said Friday he won’t withdraw from his re-election bid or even resign from his District 16 seat, which includes portions of Martin and St. Lucie counties. We are pretty forgiving here in the US of A and since he’s already admitted fault and apologized publicy, I’m sure all will end up good for Tim Mahoney.
This divorce is yet another reason why married men should just be more open with their wives. Why not say, “Hey baby. You know I love you and will for the end of time, but I have a need for something new and fresh. Maybe you’d like to watch or even join in?”
Okay maybe it wouldn’t mean that but what is the worst that could happen? You kick-start a conversation about open marriage or the possbility of trying swinging. I gotta tell you, it’s a whole lotta fun!
